Poll: Video-Editing Software 2013
Just for fun. The order shown above is random. You may select multiple software, but you can only vote once. If you select "Other," please tell us what software it was (Note: While After Effects [AE] can be used as an editor, it is important to note that it is NOT an editing program; it is an Effects-Compositing Program). Feel free to leave your thoughts or comparisons about any software below (I'm sure other people want to hear your experiences :P)

Some Thoughts about Music and AMVs

AMV Hierarchy of Limitations
"Narrow down your choices to those that limit you most, so you don't waste unnecessary effort on footage that won't ever make it into your final AMV."

Convention: Animethon 18 (2011)
Animethon 18 (2011) will be held at the beginning of August. There will be Cosplay, and yes...
you guessed it-- an AMV Contest :) For those interested, I'll probably be running a How-To Panel. [+]
I think I'll just play some AMVs and discuss them like I did at ATOA, but if you have any questions about AMV's, please bring them ;) In addition to running the contest, Vlad will also be running some AMV panels; probably a various AMV block and I think even a gameshow!
I probably should have made this promo video earlier to attract more entries, but for those that missed the July 1st deadline, there is always next year. For everyone else, watch the AMV contest and have fun!

About The Channel: AMVGuide & Phantasmagoriat AMV Productions
For those who are unfamiliar with the hobby of AMVs, it may be worth noting that online, the Creators/Editors of Anime Music Videos (AMVs), can often go by some pretty bizarre Usernames; otherwise known as an Alias, Nickname, 'Nick,' Screen Name, or Studio Name. (If you know of any bizarre/cool nicks, leave a comment below). In doing so, it may add a sense of flair or mystery around the Editor so that others in the hobby recognize their online presence... [+] Read more...
Additionally, it may help add a sense of anonymity for those that wish to have their identities remain private. Although sometimes, editors will use their real names too --and that's not a bad way of doing it either-- since I find these editors are far more open about themselves... without hiding behind a screen name. Of course, in doing so, one has to be careful with the things they do online, since it's their real name being used, so it's kind-of a "Double-Edged-Sword."
Conversely, by choosing your own username, one needs to be prepared to have that username represent themselves as an editor, so the name should be chosen carefully, because it might stick with you for a while. One example of this would be the channel I'm using for AMVGuide. The channel was originally created to catalog some AMVs made by myself-- the editor known as "Phantasmagoriat," ("Phan" for short), or "Phantasmagoriat AMV Productions" as an AMV Studio.
It seemed like a good idea at the time... but I've changed a lot since then. So, while it might not be the best way to represent myself now, it will always be the name that represents everything I've done for the past several years. And I've uploaded so much content that I don't want to migrate to a new account now-- so I'm just going to keep it the way it is... even if that means putting up with the strange looks I get from people every now an then. Actually... in a way... it's kind-of amusing :P
Anyway. Since then, the "Phantasmagoriat" channel has evolved into "AMVGuide" to host a number of useful AMV Playlists: Top-Rated AMVs to serve as good AMV examples; Promotional Videos; as well as Video Tutorials for those who are interested in getting involved in the Hobby of AMVs.

Browser: Please Use Google Chrome
"...because AMVGuide is best viewed using Google Chrome."
I don't know what Web Browser you are using to view this website right now; but if you want the best experience possible, I suggest using Google Chrome. This guide is put together in my spare time, so I would rather focus on one browser only than all the rest. Please do not use the web browser known as IE (Internet Explorer) to view this guide since it messes up certain things like the heading positions, page margins, some Java functions, and overall formatting. If you are using a Windows-based computer (Microsoft), and don't know what an Internet Browser is, you are probably using IE right now, and... it's a miracle you even made it to this page. Mozilla Firefox should work too, but I'm not testing it now... so your mileage may vary.
